It's always such a wonderful thing to get together with family! Being with cousins you have not seen in a while, Aunts, Uncles and your parents sharing stories from their childhood, everyone laughing at memories . . . memories . . . memories! These times are always a favorite of mine.
This past week I took part in such festivities. As we all gathered with family and friends everyone shared their stories and memories of my Grandma Parker. She passed away on February 4th. We celebrated her life with a visitation and funeral that were both flooded with people whose lives she had touched in some way. I can't tell you how many times I heard "Your Grandma was such a special lady" during the two days.
My Grandma was a very special person who loved all her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren very much! As we chatted together both days, we found ourselves laughing more than crying at the funny memories, group stories and loving thoughts. I briefly looked around, during the meal the church provided the family. Seeing everyone talking and laughing and being in good spirits; I knew my Grandma was looking down on us, smiling.
